You might try getting a more recent version. latest is 2.2.5, and
versions previous to 2.2.4 are known to have an SSL error that causes
output just like this.

Thanks for alerting us... looks like the traffic shaper we're setting up
is having some "issues". We'll look into it and post when it's working
again, hopefully later this morning.

Btw, this seems to be affecting only the GPL plugin feed.

Hi,

I checked out the nessus-plugins anonymous CVS today and downloaded the
direct feed tarball again.

scripts directory of anon CVS nessus-plugins:

25,007,320 bytes in 9615 files

all-2.0.tar.gz dated October 20th, 3:58pm:

24,788,192 bytes in 9512 files

Both directories contain only .nasl and .inc files, nothing else.

nmap.nasl (which seems quite important to me) is still missing from the
direct feed tarball, along with 146 other nasl scripts. Random examples:

amanda_version.nasl
admentor_login_flaw.nasl
GuildFTPD097.nasl
yahoo_dos.nasl
asp_inline_sql_injection.nasl
...

Until now I assumed that the direct feed contains all plugins, is there
a reason why some are only in the anonymous CVS? Is this due to
licensing issues?

Nessus and PacketShapers do not mix. The average survival time of a
PacketShaper in the path of a Nessus test was about 5 minutes.

In fact just running nmap was quit sufficient to render it helpless.

Do you mean _through_ it or _to_ it. If "through it" I would be
surprised as I have done Nessus scans through a PacketShaper in the
past and did not have any issues.

That is a definit THROUGH it. Is simply chokes on the amount of sessions
it needs to handle. Mind you that this was with nmap testing 30 host at
the same time with an aggresive policy.

It might have been fixed by now. But 2 years ago it was a perfect way to
perform a DoS attack on a network behind a packetshaper.
