cross compiling Nessus

Hello,
I posted a mail in December about cross compiling Nessus.

I am trying to build Nessus for various embedded devices and receive the
following error:

checking for a working strndup implementation... configure: error: can
not run test program while cross compiling

Any help is greatly appreciated.
